Renata Batista was born and raised in Brazil. After living in Paris for two years, she came to America in the late 90’s. Upon arriving to New York, she has been exposed to the Meisner Technique. She later met John Strasberg and has been training with the Master ever since. Renata appeared in several films, such as “A Fronteira”, directed by Roberto Carminati; “Box of Buttons”, directed by Natasha Mehler; “One Balloon”, directed by Aruna Naimji and Aran Hekinian. One Balloon was very well received and was selcted for several Festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival in 2005.
In 2005, Renata also wrote and produced her first film: “Silence”.
Following the years, she worked on several features, such as “Sem Controle” directed by Cris D’Amato; “Se eu fosse voce 2”, by the acclaimed director Daniel Filho; “Fall Down Dead” featuring Dominique Swain and David Carradine, directed by Jon Keeyes; “The Alphabet Killer” featuring Cary Elwes & Timothy Hutton, directed by Rob Schmidt; “Bringing up Bobby” with Milla Jojovich & Bill Pullman, directed by Famke Jansen and “Operation Autumn” directed by Bruno de Almeida.
She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish
Renata Batista nasceu eu foi criada no Brasil. Depois de ter morado em Paris por dois anos, chegou em Nova Iorque no final da decadada de 90. Foi logo exposta à técnica de Meisner. Logo em seguida, conheceu John Strasberg e vem treinando com o Mestre desde entao. Renata participou em vários filmes, como: “A Fronteira” de Roberto Carminati; “Caixa de Botões” de Natasha Mehler; “One Balloon” Aruna Naimji e Aran Hekinian. Esse ultimo receber atencao suficiente na comeperticao de diversos Festivais, inclusive o “Toronto Film Festival”.
Em 2005, Renata escrevei e produziu seu primeiro filme: “Silence”.
Nos anos seguintes, trabalhou no longas metragens “Sem Controle” dirigido por Cris D’Amato; “Se eu fosse voce 2” de Daniel Filho; “Fall Down Dead” estrelado por Dominique Swain, David Carradine e Udo Kier, dirigido por Jon Keeyes; “The Alphabet Killer” de Rob Schmidt; “Bringing up Bobby” ao lado de Milla Jojovich & Bill Pullman – dirigido por Famke Jansen e “Operação Outono” aclamado filme Portugues dirigido por Bruno de Almeida.
Alem de Português, lingua materna, ela tem fluencia em Frances, Inglês e Espanhol. Atualmente, Renata divide sua residencia entre Nova Iorque e Rio de Janeiro.
